What to Expect
The only way we do business is by forming real relationships with our clients. We believe that mutually beneficial business arrangements are based on personal relationships, to build mutual trust and understanding. We want to leverage our technical skills within partnerships where expectations in both directions are clearly laid out up front. As a prospective client, you want to know what you'll be getting and who you'll be getting it from. And as a prospective supplier, we want to understand who you are, what your needs are, and how we might best meet those needs. It's a personal touch - all too often missing from business relationships - that benefits Alverity as much it is does our clients.
We don't like surprises, and assume you don't either. We work hard to minimize the opportunity for issues to come between us. We don't rush. We don't guess. We do communicate - openly, honestly, and often. We want you to know as clearly as possible what you're getting, and we want to know as clearly as possible what your desires and expectations are.
It simply a matter of committing to a positive business relationship.
Here's what you can expect when you do business with us:
- An initial "get to know you" lunch meeting, between one of our staff and one or two of yours, at our expense. The first objective of this meeting is for you to talk, and us to listen. We need to understand what you're looking for, to assess whether we are capable of delivering in a timely, cost-effective manner. The second objective of this meeting is for us to talk, and you to listen. We want you to get to know us as people, not just a company name. We want you to feel comfortable with whom you're dealing. We will ask you about your intended budget for the project. By the end of this meeting, we should have traded enough ideas and information to each have a decent idea whether or not the "fit" between us is a good one.
- If the fit looks good and you're seeking application or website development, we'll have one or more detailed discussions with you about the work needing to be done, and the scope of the effort. We follow this same process for simple websites and for larger application development projects. Our goal here is to come up with a workable project plan that captures as clearly as possible the development effort involved and the anticipated cost of that effort. There may be a minimal charge for this initial project planning effort, especially for larger projects that require significant time to plan.
- If the fit looks good and you're interested in hiring one of our staff to add to your existing software development efforts, we'll talk through the parameters of engagement, agreeing on a start date, end date, number of hours/week, hourly rate, working remotely, etc.
- We will communicate frequently, keeping you in the loop as a project progresses. We have significant experience managing small software projects, and will do our best to manage each project successfully. However, technical issues always come up during the execution of a project, and if issues arise that could affect the delivery time or cost of a project, we'll let you know promptly so we can agree on the right course of action.
- We are not interested in business at any cost, and will not sign up for a job that we don't reasonably believe we can complete without exceeding your expectations.
- We are fully insured, carrying workman's compensation as well as both general liability and professional liability coverage at all times.
Please contact us and let's begin talking about how we can help you grow.
